Cold Laser Therapy

We are now using laser therapy in our practice to treat many common medical conditions we see in our patients such as arthritis, muscle and back pain, post-surgical discomfort, and even wound care. Laser therapy is the use of near infrared (NIR) laser light to facilitate healing within the cells of the body. A small probe resembling a flashlight is placed on or very close to the area we are interested in treating. The laser is then activated, delivering light energy (measured in joules) deep into the tissues, joints, or areas we are focusing on. The ultimate effect of this stimulation is to help reduce inflammation and pain at the site of the treatment and to ultimately promote healing. Laser therapy promotes the natural healing of the body in a safe, non-invasive way that is a valuable addition or in some cases, a replacement for pain-relieving drugs or supplements.
